Scrumptious Roast

Maryam Z | 11:59 PM |
Ingredients:
2-3 pounds Beef Butt Roast (or any roast you prefer)
1 or half a head of Garlic
1 package Beef Gravy
3 sticks of Celery, chopped
Half a bag of Baby Carrots (8oz)
1 package of Mushrooms (any kind, but the baby bellas have more flavor)
1 Onion, chopped
A dash of salt

Directions:
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Cut small holes into roast and place in the garlic (this is optional, but it does bring a very nice flavor to the meat). Do this on both sides. Place roast into a 13x9 baking pan.
  3. Onions, celery, mushrooms, and carrots. Sprinkle salt over meat and vegetables. Once that is done, pour gravy over the food and cover with aluminum foil.
  4. Place in the oven and cook for about 2-3 hours. I usually cook the meat 1 hour a pound or until the meat begins to pull away easily.
  5. Once done, let sit for about 10 minutes. Serve and enjoy. Taste great with mash potatoes.

  2. I am always looking for a way to put a new spin on cooking a roast and this is one I haven't tried. My husband loves garlic on and in everything so I'm sure it will be a hit with him!

  5. This sounds like a scrumptious recipe. I have never put garlic or the mushrooms before. I usually put a bag of baby carrots, several cut up potatoes, and 2 or3 onions. I am really excited about trying your recipe!

    1. You know, garlic and mushroom seem to add more taste to the roast. I've tried adding the spuds, but I seem to over cook them whenever I do. I just make some mashed potatoes on the side, lol.
