Papa Murphy's Take N Bake Pizza / NEW Fresh Pan Pizza Review #PapaMurphysMNO

We all know that the number one food in the U.S.A is pizza. Well, not exactly number one, but it's on the list for one of the most eaten foods. There's something about pizza that has us going back for more. Honestly, it's one of the foods that I can never have enough of. But... it depends on where you go. I've gone to many pizza joints and there are some that I don't really care for. There is one place though that I do enjoy going to and that is Papa Murphy's. I'm not just saying that cause of this review, lol, but because I've been going through them for years.

I remember the first time I had Papa Murphy's, I was pregnant with my oldest (7 years ago). The neighbor in the apartment were we living in at the time got us a family size pizza. Our stove was so small we had to fold the ends of the pizza tray just so it would fit in the oven. It was a pain having a small stove, especially when it came to cooking... Anyways, the pizza was amazing and it still is. I've always enjoyed getting my pizza from Papa Murphy's because it's fresh, affordable and you can cook it right at home.

Yeah I know I can get a pizza from the store and just pop it in the oven at home, but it not the same. One of the questions people always ask about Papa Murphy's is: Are the ingredients used on the pizza fresh or frozen? All ingredients are fresh! Their dough is made from scratch daily, the veggies are hand sliced and their cheese are freshly grated each morning. You can definitely taste the difference. I will admit, I eat some of the toppings before I place the pizza in the oven, lol.

Now, for the review! I was given a wonderful opportunity to review one of Papa Murphy's new Fresh Pan Pizza thanks to Papa Murphy's and Mom Select.


The pizza my husband and I picked out was the Herb Chicken Mediterranean delite. This pizza is loaded with chicken, spinach, sun-dried tomato, feta and mozzarella cheese, zesty herbs, garlic and olive oil. I've tried this pizza many times on thin crust, so I figured having it as the pan pizza would be a good choice. A quick note about the pizza, read the instructions! It's a good thing I read the instructions before popping it in the oven. Because this is a pan pizza, you have to watch the pizza here an there to make sure that the dough doesn't bubble.

If it does bubble, which it did, take a fork and stab the bubble so it'll go down of course. There is also butter at the bottom of the pan to help the pizza crisp and also prevent it from sticking to the pan. Sometimes the butter can dip over the edge, so that's another thing to watch for. I didn't have this problem.


So the pizza cooked for 15 minutes in the oven and I only had to pop one bubble. Not bad for my first pan pizza, lol. I would have let the pizza sit in the oven a bit more, but I didn't want it too crispy. I like my pizza in between under and over cooked, lol. After taking the pizza out, I let it sit in the pan to cool off. In the cooking instructions, it mentioned to remove the pizza from the pan after it's done cooking, but I decided to keep it in the pan because there was no where to place the pizza. I should invest in a cooling rack sometime.... Once the pizza was cooled, it was time to eat. Unfortunately my husband didn't have any of the pizza because he wanted a burger instead, so the kids and I ended up eating it.

The pizza was delicious! I'd have to say the dough was my favorite part of the pizza. I love the crispiness and buttery flavor of the dough. I've tried frozen pan pizzas before and it tasted nothing like this! The dough was so airy and light and it melted in your mouth. It's freshness at it's best! Like I said, I would have cooked it longer, but 15 minutes cooked the pizza to perfection. I'd have to say the Mediterranean delite pizza tastes pretty darn good with the pan style crust.

I was quite surprised to see my youngest eating the crust. The boy never eats the crust on a pizza and for the first time ever, he did. To me that's a shocker because that kid is so darn picky about his food, lol. My daughter and oldest son ended up eating a second slice of pizza. That right there told me the kids enjoyed the pizza as much as I did! Honestly, I'm going back sometime soon for another Fresh Pan Pizza. I might try the Murphy's Combo or the Cowboy pizza next.

  3. Papa Murphy's has their own branch located in many different places. They don't sell their pizza in the store. They are basically like any other pizza joint such as Pizza Hut or Toppers. You can see if they are located in your area by going on their website. http://stores.papamurphys.com/

  4. The new Fresh Pan pizza sounds so delicious and I love eating Papa Murphy's pizza. My birthday is on Thursday of next week and we are having Papa Murphy's pizza and I am so excited!

  5. Yummy, the pizza you choose with the toppings looks so delicious, I love spinach on my pizza all the time, it is a must have. I love Papa Murphy's too, there pizzas are awesome.
