When it comes to kitchenware and gadgets, the selection is endless. I've seen so many designs, features, colors, sizes and of course prices. I'm always looking for new items to add to the kitchen, but when I'm on a budget, I can't get very much... Not just that, the gadgets only do one thing and that leads to clutter in your drawers and cabinets. Where can you find kitchen gadgets that are versatile, affordable, stylish and durable? Dexas!

The above images shows you all of the items I was sent to review from Dexas. As you can see, there is a wide selection of items and honestly, it was more than I expected! Here is what I received: Fill-A-Baster, Citrus Slicer, XL Cube Ice Tray, Grippmat, Tortilla & Pancake Warmer, Pot Handle Holder, Cutting & Serving Board, Over the Sink Contour Grippboard, Collapsible Pop Colander, Heavy Duty Trivet, Spoon and Strain Tongs and the Grippboard.
Now, out of all the items I received, there were a few I didn't try yet and that would be most of the cutting boards. They will come in handy though later on. As for the items I did use, here are my Top 4:
1. Over-the-sink Grippboard ($29.99)
My counter space is small a lot of the room is taken by the dish strainer, coffee maker and other stuff. So, the kitchen table is where I cut my food. Even the kitchen table can get cluttered and space it limited. The thing that I enjoy about the over the counter grippboard is that I can cut my food over the sink and still have room on the table to do other things. Not only that, but the grippboard comes with a 6 cup strainer so I can cut, measure and rinse. It's convenient and definitely saves room!
- Non-slip rubber edges
- Raised edges to keep juices
- 6 cup silicone strainer
- Collapsible strainer basket
- Dishwasher safe
2. Orange Citrus Slicer ($7.99)
I am hard to please when it comes to my knives. If it isn't comfortable in my hands or cuts the way I like it to, it's not going to be used again! I can say that I have well over 30 knives sitting in my kitchen and 90% of them are just collecting dust. I know... I'm a picky person when it comes to my kitchen gear... I have a chefs knife that I've been using for over 7 years and I don't think I can ever part with it.
I've used the Citrus Slicer a few times and to be quite honest, I am in love! I don't know if it's because of the comfortable handle or the fact that it cuts food so smoothly. It's only going to be used for fruits and veggies though and my old knife will be use for cutting meats.
- Santoku blade with colored non-stick finish
- Soft grip non-slip TPE handle
- Hand wash recommended
- Wash with hot soapy water. Rinse. Dry.
3. XL Cube Ice Tray ($9.99)
I don't think I've ever seen an ice cube try like this. I mean, these cubes are huge! Originally I was going to make regular ice cubes and toss them in a glass of water, but then I decided I'd make some ghetto pops (ice pops) instead. All you need is juice, plastic wrap, and sticks. I couldn't find any Popsicle sticks, so I just used the insides of a medicine syringe as the sticks. Compared to the plastic ice cube trays and the silicon trays, I'd definitely stick with the silicon trays because the cubes are easy to remove and save a ton of room in the freezer.
- Easily create custom flavored ice cubes to compliment any drink
- The new 2 pack silicone trays make and release ice into perfect cubes.
- Trays stack into a vertical cube to take less space in freezers than traditional ice trays
- Trays fit easily into wet bar minifreezers
- Size (per): 4.25" x 4.25" x 2.75
4. Spoon & Strain Tongs ($9.99)
I have 2 pairs of tongs in my drawer right now and I'd have to say the spoon and strain tongs are the only tongs I use lately. These tongs are versatile and I've never seen anything like them. One side of the tongs can be used as a spoon while the other side is used to strain. They come in handy for pasta or even frying. I enjoy using them when I'm grilling because they seem to grab things a lot easier than the other set of tongs I have. Basically what I'm saying is that these tongs are pretty strong and durable as well.
- Use for portion control – spoon side of tongs measures 2 TBSP
- Slotted side can be used to strain, spoon side serves dressings and pasta sauces
- Locking handle takes up less space in drawers
- Non-slip soft grip handle
- Stainless steel and TPE
- Dishwasher safe
- Dimensions: 2.5"W X 9"H
This item right here is not on the list, but it's an item that I don't want to leave out. The Fill-A-Baster is so versatile and convenient, you can do so many things with it. I love using the baster when I am grilling! I just open up the baster, pour the sauce right into the cup, close and squeeze the sauce right onto the meat. The silicon brush helps spread the sauce evenly and I don't have to worry about getting any "loose" bristles on my food like a regular BBQ brush. It's also easy to clean!
