Rose Water Lemonade Recipe

Maryam Z | 7:15 PM | |

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups fresh lemon juice (4 to 8 lemons juiced, depending on size)
1 1/4 to 1 1/2 cups sugar
8 cups water
Rose water

Directions:
  1. In a microwave safe bowl, combine sugar and one cup water and stir. Place bowl in microwave and heat for one to one and a half minutes. You need sugar to be completely dissolved. Once water and sugar is combined and there are no sugar crystals, set bowl aside and let cool.
  2. Squeeze lemons by hand or with a juicer. Remove all seeds and leave the pulp (optional). Once juice is squeezed, pour juice into a pitcher with the remaining 7 cups of water. Pour sugar water into pitcher and stir.
  3. When adding rose water, add enough for flavor. I added about 1 tablespoon to the lemonade. You can add more or less if you want. Once rose water is added, stir lemonade and place in the fridge. Let it sit for a few hours to allow all ingredients to combine and then enjoy!

    1. It is quite an amazing drink! You can find rose water at any middle eastern store or you can find it online. If you are going to get it online, I would suggest putting "edible rose water" or "rose water for cooking". It's very cheap and you don't need much, so a bottle will go a long way.

  2. Fresh lemonade is always delicious, I've never had rose water. What type of flavor is that and how does it mingle with the lemons? I'm intrigued!

    1. You know, it's has a floral and citrusey kick to it. It's hard to describe, lol. I love lemonade as well, but after trying it with rose water, I prefer it this way. For this recipe, you can use rose water or rose syrup. If you are using the syrup, I would add less sugar because the syrup is pretty sweet.

    1. Rose water can be found at vitamin stores or you can find it online. I heard and read that rose water gives courage during stress, calms your nerves, lessens the feeling of panic and helplessness. It's also rich in flavonoids, anti-oxidants, tannins and essential vitamins like A, C, D, E and B3. There are so many health benefits as well. It's endless what you can do with rose water! I found a great site that has a lot of information on rose water and how it can be used:
