"Arnie Milhouse is a murderer. A millionaire with dozens of kills in his past and no one the wiser. But when his name surfaces in connection with the death of a D.C. call girl, Arnie knows it’s only a matter of time before the FBI puts the pieces together. As he makes plans to disappear and leave his life in Annapolis behind forever, he meets a beautiful, mysterious woman who takes an interest in him. The perfect final victim. He can’t believe his luck.
Only luck has nothing to do with it.
Allison McNeil has returned to Annapolis, a city that she promised herself she would never come back to, not while the cruel memories of her time at the United States Naval Academy still haunt her. But she’s willing to do just about anything to get close to Arnie, even if it means having to face down the demons of her past. Her plans work and soon she and Arnie find themselves locked in a dangerous dance of seduction and betrayal. But Arnie isn’t the only one who carries a secret and the dark truth about Allison McNeil makes a final confrontation between them inevitable. Neither of them know it, but they're on a collision course that only one of them will survive."

I'm a big fan of the suspenseful serial killer type books and this book, Killer Within, has been a great read! It all began with a man, Arnie, who was grabbing some milk at a convenient store and next thing you know, the store is being robbed. The clerk is frightened and so nervous that he bites his lip hard enough that he begins to bleed. The robber demands the money in the safe, but when the clerk tells him that he doesn't know how to get in, a warning shot goes off. Both Arnie and Edgar are frightened for the life, but Arnies killer instincts kick in and everything changes.

Arnie goes from being scared and fearing for his life to stabbing the robber in the neck with a BIC pen. After a few pushes, twists and turns, the robber was finally dead. Arnie begins to cry, but it wasn't a scared cry, it was a relief and the weight on his shoulders were lifted. Edgar ran up to Arnie, shocked to see that Arnie had killed the man. Next thing you know, Arnie shoots Edgar point blank in the head and that is how a Killer Within began!

After the incident in the convenient store, the books takes you forward, about thirteen years later. Around this time is when you are introduced to Allison, a freelance photographer, who has secrets from her past that she wants to forget, but cant. Of course she has some unfinished business, but things and people are not what they appear to be!

I'd give you more on the book, but I could go on and on and tell you all the good parts, which I don't want to do, lol. There is so much to this book, the suspense, the thrill and edginess. It's a book you don't want to put down, even when you know you have to. I've caught myself reading till one or two in the morning! It's addicting and normally I don't get that way with a book unless I am really into it. All in all, I love this book and I will definitely check out Jeff Gunhus's other books.

If you are looking for a good read, check out Killer Within on Amazon.
