I was given the opportunity to review the Aztec City Eye shadow and Teal Mascara from Paula Dorf. To be honest, I wasn't sure if I was going to like the eye shadow because of the bright colors.
I've worn colors similar to what you see above and I honestly felt like "Mimi" from the Drew Carey Show... I may be over exaggerating it a bit, but that's how I felt, lol. Because of that, I never wanted to explore and try different makeup colors. With the Aztec makeup, it's surprisingly lighter than I thought it would be. You can barely even tell that I have anything on. The only color that does stand out would be the dark brown. All the other colors are very light on my skin.
As for mascara, the teal color is darker than other brands and it's something I definetly prefer.
Above is an image of me wearing the makeup from Paula Dorf. Now, like I had mentioned about the eye shadow, it's so light you can't even tell that I'm wearing anything. I don't know if it's because of my olive complexion, but the makeup is very light. I tried adding a few layers and it barely shows. I mean, if you look at the right picture, you can see it faintly, but that's about it. I don't mind that it's light like this anyways because I'm not big on wearing bold colors or anything that stands out really. I like that I can still have the natural look with a hint of color. The mascara is light on my lashes as well. The makeup from Paula Dorf is nice, but it works better with lighter skin.
