Gourmet Pork Chops with Healthy Solutions Spice Blend

Ingredients:
4 to 5 (1 inch) pork chops
4 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup dry white wine
1 teaspoon Healthy Solutions Spice Blend (Pork & Poultry Rub)
2 to 4 cloves garlic (depending on size), minced
1 teaspoon fresh rosemary
1 teaspoon fresh thyme
1/8 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
pinch of salt to taste
1 cup chopped mushrooms
1/2 cup chopped onions

Directions:
In a large pan, melt butter over a medium heat. Season both side of chops with Healthy Solutions Spice blend. Place chops in melted butter and cook chops until browned on both side. Turn chops once!

Once chops are nice and brown on both side, pour in white wine and season chops with salt, rosemary, thyme and pepper. Add in the garlic, onions and mushrooms.

Simmer chops uncovered for about 20 minutes or until they are nice and tender. Occasionally stir mushrooms and onions in sauce to ensure even coating.

When chops have finished cooking, place them on a platter or next to your favorite side, pour over sauce and enjoy!

Prep Time: 10 Minutes
Cook Time: 30 Minutes

  13. Sounds yummy, I wonder what I can use instead of white wine, hubby will not eat anything (evenif it cooks away ) that has wine, beer or liquor in it, but this sounds great, wonder what chicken stock might do for it.

    1. You can always use cooking wine. That's another alternative. I wouldn't add salt to the dish though if you use cooking wine because the wine does have a lot of salt in it.

    1. I don't know what it is about cooking with wine, but whenever it's Incorporated in a dish, it makes the dish burst with an unbelievable amount of flavor. It all depends on the wine that you use as well. Years ago I never would have thought that I'd be cooking with wine, but now that I've been doing it more, the dishes taste so delicious and it's worth making again and again. They chops were very delicious and juicy and I'd have to say that the sauce was the best part of the meal, lol.

  34. These sound good! I think I'll switch the wine with apple juice or cider (or juice/cider mixed with chicken broth) though because I can always taste the wine (or beer or coffee depending on the recipe LoL) and apple goes so good with pork!

  38. We eat a lot of pork and chicken and it gets very boring eating it the same way over and over. Seems like it's a lot harder to find a great pork chop recipe than chicken. This looks amazing and I love that this could probably be made with chicken breasts too! I will be adding this to my recipes!
