Last month my bill came close to hitting $300 and majority of that was from the heat being on all the time. I've put plastic on the windows, insulated the house and it's still freezing. Mainly in the living room. For some reason the front of the house is colder than the back. It could maybe be the fact the living room is the biggest room of the house, but who knows.
I was recently given the opportunity to review NewAir's new Electric Oil-Filled Heater. I figured this would be perfect to try out in the living room since it happens to be the coldest room in the house.
Here are some of the features for the NewAir AH-450B:
- Radiator is designed to quickly warm any room
- Fan-free air circulation means super-quick operation
- Front carrying handles and heavy-duty caster wheels - easy to move from room to room
- Maintain the perfect room temperature with the digital timer and thermostat
- Safely operates without fumes or flames
As you can see from the images above, we have a heater. Nothing needs to be assembled, no need to screw in any parts or any of that other fancy dancy stuff. The only thing you will need which isn't included with the heater is two AAA batteries. That is for the remote and this is optional. You can use the remote to turn the heater from a distance or you can just turn the heater on using the front panel. This heater is light weight so moving it from room to room will be very easy. The handle is also another feature I like!
Once I placed the heater in a nice spot of the living room, I plugged it in and turned it on. Now, I turned it on at about 1:27 PM and of course timed it to see how long it took to heat up. You know, surprisingly it began heating a lot quicker than I thought it would. I remember my parents having a space heater years and years ago, a big bulky one and that thing took forever to heat. And once that thing got hot, you couldn't touch it or it would burn the heck outta your hands...
That thing was vicious, lol. I never liked it, but that's what they used. Plus, those heaters were more of a fire hazard and I think that's one reason why I never bothered to get one. I mean, I've thought about it, but I didn't want to risk starting a fire or risk the kids getting injured or burned. As you can tell I'm sceptical or at least I was. The NewAir space heater basically beats the traditional heaters. It's a lot safer, it's energy efficient, light weight, easy to move from one spot to another, it doesn't get scorching hot, it has a timer which comes in handy and it heats up the room faster than you'd think.
I mean, 10 minutes go by and you can feel a big difference! You can see more from my video.
