Geek Fuel May Mystery Box / Limited Edition Marvel Item

Maryam Z | 2:03 PM | | | | | | | | |

Welcome fellow Geeks and Nerds!

This months box from Geek Fuel is off the wall! Everyone that received the May box received a limited edition Marvel item and let me just say, it's fricken awesome! Alright, let the review begin....

Secret Wars Issue #1 Marvel Comics / Variant Cover by Dynamic Forces
Bringing together the worlds of Earth-616 and Earth 1610, the first issue of Secret Wars is yours, in a rare form.

My Thoughts: Comics are among one of the best things to read. I've read many comics in my life and I can't get enough of them. But... I'm going to have to pass on reading this one though. To be honest, I've been having a battle with myself over this comic. One part of me wants to break the seal and read it while the other part is yelling at me and saying "DON'T DO IT!!!!"

So, as you can see, I'm having a tough time deciding what I want to do. I will most likely leave this one be because it is a limited series and only 15,000 copies were made. Plus, with the Certificate of Authenticity, it makes this comic worth a bit more! This is one of my favorite pieces in the Geek Fuel box.
Plants vs. Zombies / Enamel Pins
Share, trade or attack at will with these limited edition pins from everyone's favorite casual game.

My Thoughts: If you haven't played Plants vs Zombies, you must! This game is one of the most addicting games there is and it's fun to play. I downloaded this game a few months ago on my kindle to see what everyone was talking about and ever since then, I can't get enough of it. I haven't played the second one yet, but I am looking forward to it!

I was pretty excited to receive these pins, since I'm a collector of many pins. I was hoping to receive one of the rare pins, but I got stuck with the common ones instead... Eh, I'm fine with that either way. I love the Zombie pins the most. The plants are cute, but the Zombie pins are more me I'd have to say. My youngest is a big fan of Zombies and when he's old enough, I'll probably give these pins to him.
Slap Koozie by Geek Fuel
There perfect size for... pretty much anything you want to wrap a koozie around. Keep it hot, Keep it cold, Keep it awesome.

My Thoughts: You know, I never really cared much for "kozzies"... I've had a few in the past and they were those flimsy ones that you slip your drink in. Getting the drink in was easy, but getting it out was a pain. So I never bothered with them. This kozzie from Geek Fuel is different and to be honest, I like it. It's almost like a slap bracelet but bigger and it will keep your drink nice and cool. Plus, you can use this Koozie on other things other than drinks. I'll have to see what else I can use this on, but in the mean time it's going to keep my KickStarts cool!
Square Heroes Downloadable Game Code & Tattoo Sheet
You've saved the human race, now it's time to have a little fun with some Galactic Tournament action. Sport your loyalties on your skin with the temporary tattoos.

My Thoughts: Here we have another downloadable game from Geek Fuel. In the game humanity is relying on the Square Avengers (the characters you play) to survive the vicious alien onslaught. You can level-up in the local single-player tournament. This game is a face-paced arena-shooter that can be played with others as well. They say that you can play with up to four other people and battle others in matches.

I played the game briefly and I'd have to say it's not that bad. It's a cute action packed game, but it's not something I'd play often. I know my kids would get into it more than I would. I'll leave this one for them.

The Force Poster by Teribbly Odd
Our Favorite miserably amazing artist lends his talent to the wisest of allies in this limited edition poster.

My Thoughts: I love receiving posters from Geek Fuel and I love Star Wars! I am a huge Star Wars and Lord of the Rings fanatic and no matter what the item may be, I want it! Or at least will treasure it for life if I own it. Call me obsessive, but I can't get enough of either and this poster from Teribbly Odd is fricken sweet! I want to get a frame for this one and hang it, but until then, I gotta keep it hidden so the kids don't get a hold of it and damage it. Doesn't Yoda look amazing?
Geek Fuel Exculusice T-Shirt / Weeping Angels Don't Blink Tour
When the Weeping Angels go on tour, blinking does a whole lot more than cause you to miss the latest set. Catch the closest show, escape their evil clutches, and hold o to that ticket stub.

My Thoughts: Alright... So this shirt is great, but... I've never watched Doctor Who. Well, I watched maybe a few episode, but it just doesn't seem me. Maybe if I start from the beginning that will change, but in the mean time I'm not to fond of it. I have a friend that's crazy about Doctor Who and her husband just recently got her a Doctor Who Tardis Teapot. I will admit, it does look pretty amazing. But again, I know nothing of the Doctor Who show.
Among all of the Geeky items in this months box, there lies a ticket. A ticket that I thought was for a movie, but after reading about it, this ticket is for a special raffle that Geek Fuel is hosting. It's called the "Weeping Angels Don't Blink Tour". On June first, the lucky ticket number will be called and someone will win a Doctor Who themed mystery box. I'm excited for this and if, if I win this box, my friend will go crazy over it! All the information is in the Geek Fuel Magazine.
Speaking of the Geek Fuel Magazine, I saw my Instagram picture in the Geek Nation section! YAY!!! I love how Geek Fuel features their fans each month in their magazine and shares their pictures of them wearing the shirt of the month. The shirt I'm wearing in this picture is from the April box.

My overall rating for this box is a 9 out of 10. I love everything in this box, especially the Comic, poster and pins. The shirt is very nice, but I don't know anything about Doctor Who... The Koozie is a great item to have for your drinks, I just need to find another use for it and the Square Heroes game is good, but not my thing. But all in all, I'd have to say that this box is pretty nifty!

    1. Your welcome Robin. I know how you feel, but sometimes it may take a couple to a few months or so to see what it's all about before you actually go through with something. I mean, to be honest, Geek Fuel is worth the money! I've been keeping tabs on the other Geek Boxes and have been comparing them to Geek Fuel and so far Geek Fuel is doing a heck of a lot better than the others. Especially when they throw in something like the limited edition poster or a limited edition comic that comes with a certificate of authenticity!

    1. I'm a picky gamer, but when it comes to games like Plants vs Zombies, I get addicted. I'm more of a computer and tablet gamer than a counsel gamer like my husband. I'm sure your son would like what he sees in the Geek Fuel box!

    1. The joys of online gaming, lol. My husband is a big gamer and ever since we've gotten the PS4, he plays on that a lot more than the Xbox 360. I myself love the PS4, but I don't get into the gaming as much. I'm more of a movie and reality show person, lol. Everyone that has gotten the Geek Fuel box loves the items that come in every month. I am one of them and I can't get enough of them =)

  8. Oh, I just HAVE to win this for my daughter - for the Weeping angel shirt if nothing else (although she and I will likely fight over it). We just had a discussion this morning where the subject came up and this would be perfect for both of us. I'm the first to admit, I'm as much of a geek as my daughters are!

    1. To be honest, I've looked into Loot Crate and I don't care for it. They don't seem to have that much of a selection like Geek Fuel does.
